Born and raised in Chilliwack, Eric is an associate in Baker Newby’s solicitors’ department. He joined Baker Newby as an articling student in May 2024 and was called to the BC Bar in May 2025.
Eric completed a Bachelor of Science at Trinity Western University while playing basketball for the Spartans. While attending law school at Thompson Rivers University, Eric provided legal aid at the TRU Legal Clinic, participated in the Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Moot, and was an assistant coach with the TRU Men’s Basketball Team. Eric also co-founded and acted as co-editor-in-chief for The Gavel, a satirical legal newspaper at TRU that was beloved by some.
Eric has always wanted to support those around him, and that desire has been actualized by using his skills and abilities to give back to whatever community he is in. Past community involvement includes assisting with underprivileged youth at the Cyrus Centre, helping at various Rotary charity events, and coaching basketball and life skills in remote Indigenous communities. Currently, Eric is involved in the youth basketball community of Chilliwack.
Outside the office, Eric enjoys spending time with family, writing, playing basketball, and dreaming of the day he can introduce his son to the world of Middle Earth.
