Lauren was born and raised in Chilliwack, BC. She attended the University of the Fraser Valley and received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she worked as a research assistant with the Centre for Public Safety and Criminal Justice Research on various projects throughout BC. Lauren originally attended law school at the University of Ottawa, but after experiencing one Ottawa winter she transferred back to BC to attend the University of Victoria for the remainder of her law degree. While attending the University of Victoria, Lauren participated in the University of Victoria’s Law Centre, providing free legal assistance to low-income individuals.
Lauren joined Baker Newby as a temporary articling student in May 2021. She returned to complete her full articling year in May 2022. Upon completion of her articles in May 2023, she will join Baker Newby as an associate in the criminal defence and general civil litigation departments. Lauren strives to practice law with a trauma-informed and intersectional lens.
Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family.
