We are currently seeking a full-time Junior/Intermediate Legal Administrative Assistant to work within the Motor Vehicle Litigation Department of our Chilliwack office.
You would report most directly to one (or two) Senior Legal Assistants, which presents an excellent and encouraging environment for continued training and growth for new legal assistants (with 1+ years of experience) to enjoy the initial comfort of a known area of law, while gradually gaining exposure to Civil Litigation.
With the changing legal landscape of motor vehicle litigation, Baker Newby is well positioned to continue to receive and service a consistent flow of quality ICBC defence matters for some years to come. But, as a full-service firm with 23 lawyers (effective May 2023), we are also uniquely positioned to gradually cross-train assistants in many other areas of litigation throughout their career with us.
Experience with either of Amicus or ESILaw would be considered an asset, in addition to previous experience in any other professional services environment. Candidates must have their Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate, and possess very strong computer skills, as we work in an ever-increasing paperless practice.
