Established in 1937, Baker Newby LLP is one of the largest Fraser Valley law firms with offices in Chilliwack and Abbotsford. We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for our Corporate Department. Previous Corporate Law experience utilizing ALF would be preferred.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with our Corporate team, with a willingness to welcome our firm culture as it relates to a high standard of quality, consistency, and distinction.
Supporting two Paralegals, primary duties will include:
– Processing document requests and mail from clients, accountants, banks and other departments
– Company searches, conflict searches, opening and closing files
– Filing of correspondence, accounts, documents etc.
– Preparing letters, documents and accounts relating to bonuses, dividends, redemptions, incorporations, share transfers, allotments, changes of directors and officers, incorporations, etc.
A dedicated work ethic and strong attention to detail is paramount for the successful candidate. Candidates must have their Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate, and possess very strong computer skills. While we will very much strongly consider all recent graduates of Legal Administrative Assistant programs, those candidates with some experience or exposure to a Corporate Law practice will be preferred for an interview.
