Kate Blokmanis was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. She graduated with distinction from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2000. She later went on to obtain her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria in 2003.

Mrs. Blokmanis worked as both a summer and articled student at a downtown Vancouver firm and was called to the Bar in 2004. Mrs. Blokmanis joined Baker Newby LLP in June 2004.

Mrs. Blokmanis's practice includes business law, real estate, agri-business, and corporate and commercial transactions.

Mrs. Blokmanis, her husband and two children enjoy participating in outdoor activites including hiking, camping and skiing.
