Heather Bains was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She moved to BC in 2003 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 2007 at the University of the Fraser Valley.
 
Heather graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia in 2010 after completing her final semester abroad in Australia at the University of Wollongong.
 
Heather completed her summer and full-time articles with Baker Newby LLP and joined them as an Associate upon her call in 2011.
 
Heather now works out of Baker Newby's Abbotsford office. Her main practice areas are commercial and civil litigation.
 
In her spare time, Heather enjoys snowboarding in the winter, and water sports in the summer. Heather also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
