Cristen Gleeson joined Baker Newby LLP as an Associate in February of 2006 and joined the Partnership in January 2010. Ms. Gleeson attended law school at Queen's University. After graduating in 2001, Ms. Gleeson articled with the Legal Services Department of B.C. Hydro in Vancouver where she practised commercial, civil and aboriginal litigation. Following her articles, Ms. Gleeson joined the Vancouver law firm of Dickson Murray where she practised commercial, civil and aboriginal litigation, appearing before all levels of court. In 2003, Ms. Gleeson appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on an appeal involving sexual and physical abuses to children in foster care in British Columbia.

Ms. Gleeson has been active in the legal and academic community. Ms. Gleeson is presently Co-chair of the Fraser Valley Section of the Canadian Bar Association.  She was guest lecturer at both the 2004 Idea Law Conference hosted by Dalhousie University Faculty of Law in 2004 and the 2005 B.C. Trial Lawyers Association's Criminal Law Conference in Surrey. Ms. Gleeson is co-author of two reports which examine protection of the legal rights of women in Canada under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Attracted by the beauty of the area and small town environment, Ms. Gleeson moved to Chilliwack in 2006 where she now resides with her spouse. Ms. Gleeson has a wide ranging practice and welcomes inquiries including matrimonial and family law, personal injury, estate, employment, aboriginal, criminal defence and sexual abuse claims.

In her spare time she enjoys hiking, writing, backcountry skiing and travel.
