Susan
Gill was born in New Westminster and grew up in Calgary and Surrey
. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of
Arts, with a major in Criminology and an extended-minor in Psychology.
She then worked in Specialized Victim Services in Vancouver, B.C.
She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University
of Windsor. With a desire to return home, Susan articled with Baker
Newby LLP and continued on as an Associate after her call to the
bar in August 2007.
Susan
has been very active with non-profit community organizations for
over a decade and is committed to community development initiatives.
To name some of her past and current commitments, she has volunteered
extensively with the Surrey RCMP Victim Services Program. She also
volunteered as a weekly television host on a local multicultural
television program, “Asian Pulse” and its predecessor “Partner's
In Community Vision”. She was named “Youth Role Model of Year” in
the first issue of the Asian Star, a local newspaper catering to
the Indo-Canadian and South Asian Community in the Lower Mainland
and Fraser Valley Region. She currently is on the Board of Directors
for B.C. Foundation for the Study of Sikhism and the United Way
of Fraser Valley .
Ms.
Gill's practice at Baker Newby LLP consists of family, civil and
criminal litigation including acting as Ad hoc prosecutor for the
Director of Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
Ms.
Gill looks forward to serving the Fraser Valley community.
