Deepak
Gautam was born and raised in New Dehli, India. He obtained an
honours degree in Commerce from the University of Dehli, India
and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Laws degree from that university.
His practice in India included civil and criminal litigation,
and he had the opportunity of representing major Indian corporates
and government institutions at the Superior and Provincial court
levels.
Deepak
has represented, among other clients, the Government of National
Capital Territory of Dehli, Indian Railways, State Trading Corporation
of India, Oswal Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited and the Lal
Mahal Group. After practicing law for several years in India,
Deepak moved to Canada in 2004.
Deepak articled with a firm in downtown Vancouver, BC before joining
Baker Newby LLP in 2007. Deepak’s practice includes conducting
prosecutions on behalf of the Federal Crown, general civil and
commercial litigation, and immigration law.
In his leisure time, Deepak enjoys spending time with this family,
playing cricket and golf, singing, and watching hockey.
