Trevin
Rogers was born in Prince George in 1964 and grew up in Castlegar,
British Columbia. After three years of undergraduate work towards
a Psychology degree, Mr. Rogers was accepted into law school at
the University of British Columbia, and graduated with his Bachelor
of Laws (LLB) in 1988. Mr. Rogers then articled and worked with
Clark, Wilson in Vancouver in their Corporate/Commercial Department.
In early 1992, Mr. Rogers moved from the "big city" to
the Fraser Valley where he joined Baker Newby LLP.
Mr. Rogers is one of our firm's solicitors and his law practice
is based on a strong corporate/commercial background, but has expanded
well beyond that to include all aspects of general business law;
real estate development, including condominiums, bare land strata
developments, subdivisions, covenants and easements and related
issues; commercial lending and conveyancing; purchases and sales
of businesses, whether by way of share transfer or asset transfer;
incorporations, shareholders agreements and related matters; partnerships
and partnership agreements; leasing; construction contracts and
related matters including builders liens; farm and other agricultural
transactions; and business succession planning.
Mr. Rogers and his family reside in Chilliwack where he is an active
member of the community. Mr. Rogers is currently Board Chair of
Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (being the economic development
agency for the City), a member of U.C.F.V.’s Chilliwack Campus
Community Councilm, the Friends of UCFV Society and the Chilliwack-Mt.
Cheam Rotary Club. Mr. Rogers’ previous involvement has included
being President of the Chilliwack-Mt. Cheam Rotary Club, President
of The United Way of the Fraser Valley, President of Big Brothers
of the Upper Fraser Valley, President of the Chilliwack Chamber
of Commerce, and President of the Downtown Business Improvement
Association. More recently, Mr. Rogers has also become active in
coaching his children’s basketball, soccer, and roller hockey
teams and is particuarly active in the Steve Nash Youth Basketball
Program..
Mr. Rogers is proud to have been chosen to be the recipient of the
City of Chilliwack’s Community Spirit Awards on two occasions,
a special award for contributing to the community from The United
Way, and the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. Branch Community Service
Award for Westminster County. Mr. Rogers has also been awarded a
Paul Harris Fellowship by his Rotary Club.
In his free time, Mr. Rogers enjoys spending time with his family
and various sporting and outdoor activities, particularly basketball
and golf.
